Our recent rebrand from Sunnybank Community & Sports Club to The Sunny represents an exciting new chapter for our club, but it also gave us an opportunity to reflect on what has always been at the heart of who we are: supporting our community and making a positive difference.
When our team at The Sunny stepped into their new uniforms, we found ourselves with a collection of garments that no longer reflected our refreshed brand. Rather than allowing these perfectly usable uniforms to go to waste, we wanted to find a meaningful way to give them a second life.
We were proud to donate our old uniforms to the Mt Gravatt Men’s Shed, a valued local community organisation that shares our commitment to sustainability, connection and making a positive impact.
The Mt Gravatt Men’s Shed brings people together through hands-on projects, creativity and community involvement. Their volunteers will repurpose our former uniforms into practical items, helping extend the life of these textiles while reducing unnecessary waste and keeping usable materials away from landfill.
At The Sunny, we believe sustainability is about more than reducing our environmental footprint. It’s about making responsible choices, supporting local organisations and finding opportunities to create positive change wherever we can.
While our logo and uniforms may have changed, our commitment to the community remains the same. From supporting local groups and building meaningful partnerships to making more environmentally conscious decisions, we’re always looking for ways to give back beyond our venue.
We’re incredibly grateful to the volunteers at Mt Gravatt Men’s Shed for the important work they do and for helping ensure our old uniforms continue to serve a purpose.
Because at The Sunny, a new beginning doesn’t mean leaving the past behind. It means carrying our values forward in new and meaningful ways.
