Our goal is to provide financial assistance to promote and support the social and economic growth of the area. Through our grants, we continue to make a real difference for local charities, non-profits and sporting clubs.

Programs we help Support
Mt Gravatt Men’s Shed
Thanks to a grant from SCSC, the Mt Gravatt Men’s Shed now has a new multifunction table, enabling members to continue their hands-on projects and contributions to the community.
We’re thrilled to support initiatives that bring people together through skill and craftsmanship.
Coopers Plains State School
Sunnybank Community and Sports Club helped Coopers Plains State School provide swimming lessons for all students!
Every student participated in eight lessons, boosting their confidence in the water.
We’re excited to support educational programs that make a tangible difference in the lives of local children.
Indoor4Kids Inc.
SCSC proudly supported @Indoor4KidsInc’s recent junior tournament!
Thanks to our grant, the young athletes received new gear and uniforms, promoting teamwork and unity.

Calamvale Leopards AFL Club
We’re proud to help the Calamvale Leopards upgrade their clubhouse and enhance their sponsor signage for the 2024 season.
It’s an honor to support local sports teams and contribute to the development of the next generation of athletes.
Sunnybank Rugby Union
Sunnybank Community Sports Club is proud to support Sunnybank Rugby Union by helping maintain their facilities and enhance both junior and senior rugby programs.
Our commitment ensures that players of all ages can continue to thrive on and off the field, fostering a strong and vibrant rugby community.
Serbian Australian Community Centre
We’re thrilled to see our community grant help bring the second annual Folklore Festival to life at the Serbian Australian Community Centre – Brisbane.
With over 250 performers, 76 volunteers, and vibrant Serbian traditions on display, we’re proud to support an event that celebrates culture and strengthens our community.
Ladybird Care Foundation
SCSC is proud to support the Ladybird Care Foundation through a grant to enhance their bereavement care services. This grant provided branded gazebos, flags, and volunteer shirts, helping the foundation make a strong impact at events.
Ladybird Care empowers grieving families with support and mentorship from those with lived experience. We’re honoured to help them create pathways for healing, ensuring no one walks this journey alone.
Small Steps 4 Hannah
Sunnybank Community & Sports Club is proud to support Small Steps 4 Hannah through a community grant for their HALT Program—a powerful initiative dedicated to honouring Hannah and her children.
The HALT Program equips students in Years 7 to 12 with the knowledge and skills to foster respectful relationships, navigate challenges, and build a safer future. Through interactive discussions, it empowers young people to embrace empathy, courage, and resilience—creating a lasting legacy of change.
How to be a part of our community Program
Eligibility
- Applicants must meet all the following criteria
- Local Community Group: provides services, sporting or cultural opportunities within a 15km radius (or outside this radius by special consideration).
- Organisation Type: must be a community-based not-for-profit organisation, community support group, sporting club, charitable organisation or school.
Ineligible Applicants
The following are not eligible for funding:
- Commercial businesses
- Political or secretarial groups Trade unions
- Professional associations
- Organisations established for incorporated or profit-making purposes
- Exclusions Funding will not be provided for: Projects outside the 15km radius (unless approved under special consideration)
- Overseas travel
- Individuals requesting personal funding
How to Apply
Eligible organisations are invited to submit a Community Grants Application Form, along with a cover letter that includes:
- A brief overview of your organisation, its objectives and history.
- Contact details, number of volunteers/staff and proximity to the Club.
- A summary of the project or event, including timeline, audience demographics, and estimated impact.
- Details on how the local community will benefit from the grant.
- Opportunities for Club recognition (e.g. naming rights, co-promotion, signage).
- Any time-sensitive deadlines relating to funding.

Additional Information
Conditions of Funding Successful applicants may not apply for another grant within a 12-month period. Where appropriate, recipients must acknowledge the Club’s support in their communications or promotional material. Recipients may be invited to participate in promotional or media opportunities.
Community Grants Acquittal Process
To ensure transparency and accountability, all successful Community Grant recipients must complete the following acquittal requirements:
- Proof of Purchase Grant recipients are required to provide a copy of receipt(s) or invoice(s) confirming the purchase of approved item(s). Receipts must clearly show the item(s) purchased and the amount paid. Documentation must be submitted within 12 months of receiving the grant funding.
- Promotional Recognition As part of the grant partnership, recipients must acknowledge Sunnybank Community & Sports Club’s support through at least one of the following channels: Social media post (tagging the Club where possible) Inclusion in your eDM to members/supporters Feature in your newsletter Website acknowledgement (if applicable)
Please provide a screenshot or copy of the published recognition as part of your acquittal submission. Failure to provide acquittal documentation within the 12-month period may affect eligibility for future Community Grants

Please note: To be eligible to apply for a grant, your organisation must be a local community group located within a 15km radius of our venue. Requests from outside this area will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Eligibility also includes a set of requirements outlined in our guidelines.
