How much does it cost to hire a function room at The Sunny?
Room hire is quoted individually based on the space you choose, guest numbers and your catering or beverage package, from small meeting rooms through to full scale events in our SunPAC Theatre. Most bookings are built around a minimum spend, and we can walk you through what that covers when you get in touch.

What's the biggest venue for a corporate event or conference in Sunnybank?
Our SunPAC Theatre is the largest space at The Sunny, seating up to 297 guests theatre style or hosting up to 300 for a cocktail style event. It was built as a purpose made performance venue with a full stage and AV setup. That makes it ideal for conferences, large presentations and corporate events, and the adjoining SunPAC Foyer gives you extra room for breakout networking.
Does The Sunny have private function rooms for birthdays and celebrations?
Yes. Several of our spaces are set up specifically for private celebrations. The Orchid Room, Solstice Room, Eclipse Room and Meridian Room all include private bar access and can be tailored for birthdays, engagements and other milestone celebrations, accommodating anywhere from an intimate gathering up to 120 guests cocktail style.
Can The Sunny host both corporate meetings and social events?
Yes. Our Boardroom, Meeting Room 1, Meeting Room 2 and Meeting Room 3 are set up for corporate meetings and training, with AV that’s ready to use straight away and operable walls that combine into one larger space when needed. For social events, our function rooms, including Orchid, Solstice, Eclipse and Meridian, suit everything from celebrations and private parties to casual networking, and each space has its own bar close by.
Is The Sunny a function venue on Brisbane's southside?
Yes. The Sunny is located at 470 McCullough St, MacGregor, on Brisbane’s southside, close to Sunnybank, Sunnybank Hills, Robertson and Eight Mile Plains.
We offer extensive complimentary onsite parking, which makes us an easy option for local bookings and events from further across Brisbane.
Does The Sunny offer catering and drinks packages with function room hire?
Yes. All function room hire includes access to our own catering team, with options ranging from grazing platters and canapés through to buffet and two or three course plated dinners. We also offer prepaid beverage packages in Bronze, Silver and Gold tiers, alongside consumption tab and cash bar options, so you can choose whatever level of service suits your event.
Can you cater for dietary requirements?
Yes. We can accommodate a wide range of dietary requirements with advance notice, so every guest is looked after. Special dietary meals are available for an additional $12 per person.
Can we bring our own cake?
Yes, you’re welcome to bring your own celebration cake with prior written approval from our team. A cakeage fee may apply depending on whether you’d like us to cut and serve the cake, or simply provide plates and napkins so you can serve it yourselves.
What's included in the minimum spend?
The minimum spend is the total amount required to book your space, and can include room hire, food, beverage and specialised staffing. It doesn’t cover extras like additional styling, entertainment or external vendor costs. Our events team will work with you to structure a package that meets the minimum in whatever way suits your event best.
What if our numbers change last minute?
We understand guest numbers can shift. Final numbers are required 14 days before your event and will be the minimum charged. If numbers increase after that point, we’ll do our best to accommodate the change, subject to staffing and kitchen capacity.
Can we bring external entertainment?
Absolutely. DJs, live bands, acoustic musicians, MCs and performers are all welcome. Just let us know in advance so we can sort out space, power access and timing before you arrive. All external providers need to follow our venue guidelines and hold current public liability insurance.
Are we allowed to style the room ourselves?
Yes, you’re welcome to decorate the space yourself or bring in your own stylist. All styling needs to be approved by our team in advance, to make sure it meets our safety and venue standards. Confetti, glitter and open flames aren’t permitted.
