Furniture and layout can be adjusted to suit standing drinks, roaming canapes or a mix of both, depending on how you want your event to run.

Capacity
Eclipse Room holds up to 60 guests, cocktail style. This room doesn’t offer cabaret, round table, theatre or boardroom configurations, so cocktail style is the only option here.
If your event needs seated capacity, the Meridian Room converts between cocktail, cabaret, round table and theatre layouts instead.

What kind of events does Eclipse Room suit best?
Eclipse Room is one of Brisbane’s more flexible party function rooms, built for cocktail style events where guests stand, mix and move around the space. It works well for networking functions, corporate party nights, product launches and premium celebrations, rather than seated dinners or presentations. If your event needs guests seated at any point during the night, it’s worth checking one of the other event spaces instead, since Eclipse Room doesn’t offer a seated configuration.
Can I cancel or postpone my event?
Refunds follow a schedule based on the notice given. You’ll receive a full deposit refund three months or more out, 75% at two months, 50% at one month, and no refund inside 14 days, with full payment required at that point. Events can be rescheduled up to 7 days before the date, though the original deposit is forfeited when the date changes. Contact the events team on functions@sbru.com.au to arrange a change.
Can we bring our own cake?
Yes, with prior written approval. A cakeage fee may apply depending on whether the team cuts and serves it or simply provides plates for a self serve.
What if guest numbers change last minute?
Final numbers are due 14 days before your event and become the minimum you’re charged for. If numbers increase after that point, the team will accommodate the change where staffing and kitchen capacity allow.
Can we bring external entertainment?
Yes. DJs, live bands, musicians, MCs and performers are all welcome with advance notice, so the team can arrange space, power access and timing. External providers need to hold public liability insurance.
Can we style the room ourselves?
Yes, with sign off from the events team first to meet safety and venue standards. Confetti, glitter and open flames aren’t permitted.
What's included in minimum spend?
Minimum spend covers room hire, food, beverage and any specialised staffing your event needs. It doesn’t cover additional styling, entertainment or external vendor costs. The events team will work with you to structure a package that meets the minimum in a way that suits your event.
